Quick help

Start where
the problem starts.

01

Filter

The effect does not appear

  1. Confirm Display over other apps is enabled for Drain.
  2. Start the filter again and approve Android's capture prompt.
  3. Check that the app you opened is in your target list.
02

Automatic mode

Drain does not start automatically

  1. Confirm Accessibility is enabled for Drain.
  2. Make sure automatic mode is on inside the app.
  3. Open a selected target app and try again.
03

Android prompt

Capture confirmation keeps returning

  1. Android controls this confirmation; Drain cannot bypass it.
  2. Approve the prompt when restarting the capture session.
  3. If it loops unexpectedly, restart Drain and note what happened before the prompt.
04

Crash or bug

Something closes or behaves strangely

  1. Note the exact screen or action where it happened.
  2. Include your phone model and Android version.
  3. Mention whether a local crash log is available to share.

Chrome & Firefox help

Browser fixes.
Same local-first rules.

01

Automatic activation

A selected website is not drained

  1. Open Drain from the browser toolbar while you are on the website.
  2. Confirm the hostname appears under automatic activations.
  3. Check the extension's website permissions if access was previously removed.
02

Temporary bypass

The page is still in color

  1. Open Drain and choose Resume Drain if a bypass is active.
  2. Confirm Drain is enabled for the current website.
  3. Reload the tab once if Chrome or Firefox restored a suspended session.
03

Website access

Why the browser requests permission

  1. Access is requested only when you add a website for automatic activation.
  2. It lets Drain apply packaged grayscale behavior on that website and its subdomains.
  3. Removing the target asks the browser to remove the corresponding access.
04

Browser bug report

What to include in your email

  1. Chrome or Firefox and the browser version.
  2. The Drain version shown on the extension details page.
  3. The affected hostname and the exact steps that produced the issue.
